Games

Besides utility apps, I also love thinking about different game concepts and experiences. Designing games gives me unrestricted freedom to express creative ideas.

Far Far Away

In Development
To Infinity and Beyond

Far Far Away is a mobile game inspired by the indie game "No Man Sky". The game experience revolves around the discovery of new planets, harvesting resources, and building more powerful ships to conquer harder and harder voyages. The game features procedurally generated game levels and planets that makes the game content limitless. So far we have had a lot of fun designing and implementing the game logic. We'll see you in the App Store soon!

Art Direction

Game design challenges not only one's logical thinking but also imagination and art style. For Far Far Away, after experimenting with various visual styles, semi-realistic, retro, artistic, I discovered this colorful and outline-less cartoon style that captures the playful feeling I wanted.

Far Far Away is a game inspired by the indie game "No Man Sky". The game experience revolves around the discovery of new planets, harvesting resources, and building more powerful ships. The coolest but also hardest part about making this game is that we want to build a system that procedure generates an unlimited number of planets to make the game content limitless. So far we have had a lot of fun designing and implementing the game logic. We'll see you in the App Store soon!

About Me

My name is Simon Peng, a multidisciplinary product designer with a deep passion for design.

The relationship between people, space, and objects is always fascinating to me. I love observing how people use a product and think about new ways to solve problems and new experiences.

I pursued my love for human interaction and experience in architecture in college. During my free time, I also do industrial, furniture, automotive, game design, and almost anything else that inspires me as a designer and allows me to be creative, expressive, and original. But my true love is for product/UI/UX design because of the endless possibilities it brings. Turns out the user-centered mindset and sensitivity for design is a great fit.

Now I'm a full-time product designer striving to bring new innovations, impact, and opportunities to the digital era.
